Thursday 15th May – Windsurf ** River Stour at Wrabess – cloudy and
a tad chilly.
Foil – 18.19 knot max, 16.47 knot ave., 7.89 knot hour, 14.36 knot
mile, 34.90 km., 14.23 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham
Storm 6.5.
After a run of sunny days the wind turned north and it clouded over making
it a tad chilly:( The Stour was the only option today so I packed a picnic,
then Mag and I headed over to Wrabness at 10, parking easily being the only
one there! Foil board was quickly on the beach and there looked just enough
for my 6.5,lucky really as it was the biggest sail I had with me! I waded
out at midday as Mag set off on her walk, not very inspiring on a dull day!
The session started well, when I reached deep water I uphauled and set off
but the board would not fly, I jumped off to eomove a large clump of weed
and my uj decided to break so I had to return to the van to replace it,
luckily Mag had left the key hidden! I waded out again and although I did
have some nice long 2.50 runs towads Shotley the wind was very gusty so not
great and the last run back was particularly crap as the wind dropped :(
Mag was waiting for me on the steps wondering whee I was as I had been gone
3 hours, so I changed and had a late lunch befoe heading for home. We made
a detour to Stutton to buy some lovely plants from a stall and had a keep
walk at Alton water to see the Highland cattle but sadly they were not
there! After 3 days hectic windsurf foiling it will be nice to have a few
days of as I am knackered!
